For Shopware 6 installation In need to adjust the routing settings of the web server DocumentRoot SHOPWARE_DIR/public

I tried to set it in a .htaccess file in project root folder but it did not work.
I see in browser Virtual Hosts that there is a file /vhost.d/shopware6.conf where probably I should insert the code but since I can’t get inside of VM created by Docker I am looking for a file where I can adjust the routing settings in Windows file system. Any Ideas?
